Sick Day Routine

Last week we had a little late birthday party for Breese and it was fun!, BUT with eight kids in the house a few of them were getting over nasty colds and well.... We've all got it now. In this post I thought I would share what I like to do on sick days that help me get over the cold faster.
#1. Oil Pulling: I oil pull daily, but it's really important when you're sick. It helps your sore throat, cleans your mouth, and you spit all that nasty sick morning breath out.
#2. Tea: When I have a cold I like to keep the kettle warm all day long. Lemon water, green tea, and a lot of herbal teas. I will often sprinkle turmeric in my tea for extra cold kicking power! Also, is it just me, or is everything too sweet when you're sick? I can hardly drink water when I'm sick because it just tastes too sweet. Weird
#3. Essential Oils: I like to mix eucalyptus with coconut oil (it's like a natural vicks vapor rub) and rub on the bottoms of my feet. My favorite way to use essential oils though is using my diffuser! It fills the whole room with an amazing smell (if you can smell anything at all that is) and it's a colds worst enemy.
The best essential oils to use when you've got a cold are:
● Eucalyptus
● Lemon
● Tea Tree
● Cypress
● Lavender
● Vanilla
#4. Eat Healthy: Eat fruit, eat vegetables, eat A LOT of greens, drink soup (my favorite is miso), and STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR!! Sugar will only make you feel worse.
#5. Get Some Rest: It's important to get rest when you're sick, I know, I know it's really hard to do that sometimes with all that has to be done and all, but if you possibly can, take some time off and rest. (The only thing I'm making myself accomplish today is this blog post haha)
#6. Get Some Fresh Air: Honestly getting fresh air just puts me in a better mood, but it's also really good to get some fresh clean air and sun when you're sick.
Well, those are some things I like to do when I'm sick. I hope you learned something from this post and if you're sick I hope you feel better soon! I'm gonna just drink my tea, and watch this new farming youtube channel I found. Have a nice day!
