Let's Talk About Meat

This is a touchy topic nowadays with all the vegans and vegetarians, but it's something I've been fired up about for a while now, so imma just gonna rant about it on here.

First off I eat meat. I don't care if you don't eat meat, it doesn't matter to me what you do, but can we all just stop being such buttholes about it? Nowadays people care about a chicken's life more than a human's life. Let's just all calm down when someone says they're craving a steak. It's not the end of the world when someone doesn't think the way you do, okay? Now let's go on:

People have been eating meat for centuries and there is NOTHING wrong with eating meat. Animals are here for us humans to eat. That's literally what they were created for. So why is everyone against meat nowadays? Well, it's the industry; the meat farms. Not only are we all eating WAY too much meat, we don't give it a second thought about where it came from, or how the animal was treated. We just grab those drumsticks and go.

We are incredibly blessed to live in a time where everything is so darn convenient. We hardly do anything for ourselves anymore though and that's part of the problem. We don't raise our own meat. We don't decide how the animals we're consuming are being treating. We let the industry do that. We let OTHER people decide, we let them have that control. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that though. I'm extremely grateful to live in a time where I don't have to grow and raise my own food. I can hardly keep my aloe vera plant alive, but we've gone too far (in my opinion). We've let other people call the shots on things that should be OURS to decide. We should take at least some things back. Back to the way it was before everyone became lazy bums and don't give a crap as to where their food came from.

When you raise your own meat you not only get to decide how your animals are treated, but you get to decide what they eat. Want grass fed meat? Easy as pie. It's nice not having to cut the grass all the time and destroy our planet further with your lawnmower anyways. Let the animals do it! (that's another reason they're here btw, to work for us)

Now I know what y'all are going to say "animals are treated bad though" yeah, you're right I don't like it that the meat most of us are consuming is meat from an animal who spent its whole life in a cage and being beat. That's wrong, BUT it doesn't have to be that way. There are ways to consume meat ethically. It may be more expensive to buy free rage chicken, but is it worth it? totally. Not everyone can farm and that's totally fine. You do what you want and how you want it, I honestly couldn't care less. I'll take care of myself the way I want to, you do the same. It's all good. Now let me tell you a little about my farm:

As you guys know I have a mini farm here, I've got two goats, four chickens, and two ducks. Do my animals eat luxury grains and sleep on silk sheets? No, but they're not locked in a cage 24/7 and they don't get beat. Although the animals I'm raising aren't for meat (they're for milk and eggs) I will eventually raise some that will be butchered. Just because I'm planning on butchering an animal doesn't mean I'm not gonna take care of it though. I may not give them names, (as to not feel like I'm butchering a pet) but my animals are treated good. they get treats, they have a nice big yard to play in, I play with them and pet them, I freaking cooked my ducks and chickens oatmeal for breakfast this morning. So yeah, I don't let my chickens sleep inside on my bed with me, but they're not humans so they shouldn't be treated that way.

I'm not trying to tell you that you need to start a farm, but I am saying you can make better choices with your meat. Be it the amount you consume, or where you buy it from, even the little things make a difference.

I would like to note that I don't always eat ethically raised meat, so please don't think I'm honking my own horn. I've been thinking about this lately because I know I need to be better about it, too.

Anyway, this post doesn't have much of a point. I rant too much on here lol. I'm just saying don't feel bad when you're eating meat. THAT'S WHAT THOSE ANIMALS ARE FOR. Meat is good and good for you. Can everyone just calm down and let people eat what they want to eat please?

Well, I have no idea what this post was about really, but I hope you enjoyed my rant.

now go and enjoy a hamburger
